Dear Friend:

As we celebrate the season of Christmas with family and friends, we want to pause to thank you so much for all that you do to help us make a difference in the lives of others.  The message of Christmas reminds us that God provided the world hope in the person of His only begotten Son and today some 2,000 years later that message is still ringing loud and clear.  For many of you, your gifts continue to allow us to share the message of Christmas … ALL YEAR LONG!

From feeding the homeless, to providing clothing for those in need, to the afterschool program for at-risk children, to the medical outreaches through optical , medical and dental care, we simply could not do without your continued support for which we are most grateful!  And as we reflect over this past year, countless individuals have had HOPE restored because of you.  Grandmothers are in a better position to care for grandchildren; children are performing better in school; those coming out of prison are making a successful reentry into the community; men and women are being trained for the workforce; and your partnership with us is making all the difference in the community.

As we look forward to the New Year, we anticipate so many wonderful things happening in the community.  After nearly a year’s delay, we finally were granted the permit to start construction on the New Cornerstone Kitchen.  Now that the contracts have been awarded, the plans are to break ground in January 2014.  We will keep you updated regarding the building updates.

This new facility will not only allow us to ease the overcrowding that take place during the 8 meals that are held each week, but also partner with other providers to inform those in need about  resources and opportunities to help them transition off the streets into housing.
